STS-117: P6 solar array retraction (NASA) Astronauts on the ISS and engineers on the ground are continuing to work on computer problems in the Russian segment of the station as two STS-117 astronauts plan to perform an EVA to repair a thermal blanket on the shuttle. Station officials said Thursday that they were making progress on the problem that has caused the computers that control the station's Russian segment to malfunction, but have yet to resolve the problem. A possible cause of the problem is static in connections with the new S3/S4 truss segment. As that troubleshooting work continues, astronauts Jim Reilly and Danny Olivas plan to venture outside the station later today to repair a protruding thermal blanket on the aft section of Atlantis, as well as aid in the retraction of a solar array on the station.
