Northrop to move headquarters to DC
Posted: Tue, Jan 5, 2010, 5:36 AM ET (1036 GMT)
Los Angeles-based aerospace company Northrop Grumman announced Monday that it will move its corporate headquarters to the Washington, DC area by the middle of next year. The company, the second largest defense contractor, said the decision will allow the company to better serve its primary customer, the federal government. The company plans to complete its search for locations in Washington, DC itself and the Maryland and Virginia suburbs by spring, and open the office by the summer of 2011. The move will involve about 300 jobs; Northrop's aerospace and other operations in California will not otherwise be affected by the transition.
