NASA to roll back SLS
Posted: Sat, Apr 23, 2022, 9:49 AM ET (1349 GMT)
NASA will roll back the Space Launch System from the pad for repairs after a third tanking test was scrubbed last week. The agency announced April 16 that the vehicle would roll back to the Vehicle Assembly Building in order to upgrade supplies of nitrogen gas used at the pad. The rollback will also allow repairs of a hydrogen leak found during a tanking test last week and a valve on the rocket's upper stage. The announcement came a little more than 24 hours after SLS managers had sounded an optimistic note about tracking down the hydrogen leak, suggesting at the time that another countdown rehearsal could take place later in the week.
