Posted: Sat, Apr 23, 2022, 9:52 AM ET (1352 GMT)
SpaceX launched a classified payload for the National Reconnaissance Office April 17. A Falcon 9 lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 9:13 am EDT (1316 GMT) on the NROL-85 mission. The NRO later declared the launch a success. The rocket's first stage, which previously launched the NROL-87 mission in February, landed back at the launch site. This was the first NRO mission to fly on a reused Falcon 9.
