Skyroot Aerospace reaches orbit on first Vikram-1 launch

Vikram-1 first launch (Skyroot Aerospace) Indian launch startup Skyroot Aerospace successfully launched its first Vikram-1 rocket Saturday. The rocket lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 2:35 a.m. EDT (0635 GMT) after a 35-minute delay caused by a technical issue. The vehicle reached orbit 15 minutes later and deployed two cubesats. The launch was the first orbital attempt by Skyroot Aerospace and the first time a commercial Indian rocket reached orbit.
